|Salted fresh popped corn, dry roasted peanuts, and candy corn make an irresistible combination!|
|Packaged with an obvious trick and a hidden treat(large candy bar), these make the perfect gift for parents on trick or treat duty…yes, that’s snow in the background!|
Remember my last Halloween? Of course you don’t! Well, in a nutshell…There were decorations, really good candy, a flying monkey dog, and even beverages for the adults. Only 1 kid trick or treated 🙁 I blamed it on the scary wreath.

I’ve changed the wreath, made Zoe a ladybug costume, secured some really good candy, and I have this lovely Trick & Treats Popcorn. Let’s see what happens 🙂
P.S. I chose the dry roasted peanut and candy corn because of a post that I saw on one of my favorite blogs, SouthernPlate.com. When she explained that the combination was like eating a PayDay candy bar, I thought, ‘how good would this be with salted buttered popped corn!?’

Tricks & Treats Popcorn
makes about 16 cups
fills about 8 small bags
12 cups popped corn, made fresh(buttered & salted) or purchased
2 cups dry roasted peanuts
2 cups candy corn
packaged candy(I used Hersheys w/Almonds and Reeses Pumpkins)
decorated bags, see directions below
rubber spiders or other scary things*
*Please be careful to take caution with any decoration that might be considered a choking hazard
In a very large bowl combine popped corn with peanuts and candy corn. Divide mixture among individual bags, filling half way before adding packaged candy. Top each with remaining popcorn to cover treat. Position rubber spider or other scary thing atop each.
If you want to make the decorated bags you will need:
8 paper kraft bags(I used black…4×2.5×7.5)
8 printed tags(I used Publisher to create 3×2-inch rectangles, with printed message centered, leaving room at top for sticker)
Choice of Halloween stickers
8 1-inch pieces of tape
Apply sticker(s) to printed tags and attach to bags with rolled tape.
