Grilled bacon burger with pepper jack cheese, piping hot onion rings, and ‘the star of the show’…Chocolate Malt Milkshake! |
I’ve been dreaming of having a chocolate malt milkshake since the begining of Summer. Since I knew that I’d be coming to Birmingham this Summer, I decided that my chocolate malt milkshake fix would wait until I could take a trip to Backyard Burger. This is a cute little no frills drive-thru charbroiled burger restaurant, known for their incredible burgers and milkshakes…especially the malted milkshakes.
So, I got my fix…It was really good…as good as I remembered. But, you know what? With a little more chocolate, it would be even better. I chose to add chocolate pudding mix and created a more chocolatey, creamy milkshake. YUMMY x 10!!!
If you’re in Birmingham, try Backyard Burgers! If you’re at home, try my recipe 🙂

So good, I even attempted to make a frilly papper thingy for the straw! |
Double Chocolate Malt Milkshake
Serves 4
1 pint chocolate ice cream
2 cups whole milk…actually, you can use 2%
4 tablespoons malted milk powder
3 tablespoons instant chocolate pudding mix
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4-6 malted candy balls, crushed
whipping cream
Combine ice cream, milk, malted milk powder, chocolate pudding mix, and vanilla in a blender and process for 45 seconds. Pour into tall glasses, top with whipped cream, and garnish with crushed malted balls. Serve immediately
Oh my goodness. I really NEED one of those, and since I can’t make it to Backyard Burgers…off to get the ingredients. I will tell my husband it is your fault 🙂
I’m dying right now… this looks absolutely amazing!
